Food Quality Supervisor
TeamBuilders is hiring for an experienced Food Quality Supervisor to join a Food Processing facility in the Fresno, CA area.
The Food Quality Supervisor will report directly to the QA Food Safety Manager and will be responsible for following all established GSFI Programs, policies and practices to produce Safe Quality Products that meet regulatory, customer, and company requirements in addition to supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and compliance of all programs, policies, and procedures contained in the Food Safety Quality Management System.
The Food Quality Supervisor position is being offered on a Direct Hire, full-time basis and will consist of the day shift Monday through Friday in addition to overtime and weekends as necessary. Company offers a competitive benefits and salary package of up to $85K yearly, DOE.
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Food Quality Supervisor:
- Conduct verification and maintenance of Food Safety & Quality Systems while ensuring adherence to regulatory, customer and company Food Safety and Quality requirements
- Monitors and verifies production operation compliance with GSFI Programs to ensure effectiveness and conformance
- Document and track Key Quality KPI’s and report trends, specification targets and goals to QA Food Safety Manager and Plant Director
- Participates in the identification of improvements and changes to plants quality, sanitation, and food safety programs
- Conduct Monthly Facility Inspections with CAR Report
- Oversee the compliance of MSS daily and reporting discrepancies in system
- Train hourly plant technicians on QA functions including testing, frequency, methodology and standards
- Coordinates GMP, Quality and HACCP Training for all personnel
- Complete innovation and benchwork as required
- Manage Laboratory Inventory and submit monthly inventory needs report
- Conduct all Environmental/Micro Sampling per frequency. (Finished Product, Sponges, Allergen, ATP Swabs, Air Monitoring per program specifications
- Create Finished Product Specifications and cooking Instructions for all new and existing products
- Manage daily equipment calibrations and advise when annual calibrations are required
- Support the staging, transferring, and returning of ingredients back into appropriate locations as needed ensuring complete traceability and documentation
- Verify post maintenance duties that impact food safety prior to sanitation efforts
- Follow production schedule and ensure that all proper paperwork is ready for production each day
- Identify out of spec quality defects and work with production to bring product within specification or notify management for assistance
- Participate in startup, changeover, and cleanup post sanitation exercises as needed
- Reporting non-conformances regarding equipment and/or personnel to Production Manager
- Additional related duties as tasks as required
Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge of the Food Quality Supervisor:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Food Quality Supervisory role within a Food Production Facility
- BS in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
- HACCP Certification required
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification (Preferred)
- Strong problem solving, analytical, time management, project management and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership abilities and leading team in Root Cause Analysis
- General knowledge of math or proficient in mathematics & measuring instruments
- Professional communication skills; Verbal, Written and Interpersonal
- Must be able to work in variable climate conditions such as refrigerated rooms for a long period of time, storage freezers, and wet environments
- Must be able to follow all GMP requirements, able to walk up & down stairs & ladders, and under equipment in addition to lifting up to 25 pounds
- Primary work hours are day shift but be able to work variable hours such as early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
