Food Production Supervisor

TeamBuilders is hiring for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a rapidly growing Food Processing organization in the Reedley, CA area.

 

Company is an established, fast-paced and team-oriented food production facility that just opened a new line of products and is ideally seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor with a minimum of 3 years’ experience supervising the operations of a food production facility.  We are ideally seeking candidates with a proven track record as a self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit and eager to participate in all aspects of creating a successful operation.

 

 

The Production Supervisor will provide direct support to the Production Manager. Position is being offered on a Direct Hire and Full-Time basis, Monday – Friday, daytime hours and will require Saturdays based on production deadlines, season, etc. Company offers an outstanding benefits package and a competitive salary of up to $85K to start, DOE.

 

 

Essential Duties of the Production Supervisor:

  • Provide excellent leadership and supervision to production employees
  • Coordinate & monitor facility and equipment for efficiency, maintenance, modifications and improvements
  • Provide support to the Sales and Finance Management team by collaborating with the Supply Chain team assisting with tracking, monitoring and coordinating all existing and new projects from start to finish
  • Planning, organizing and supervising optimum daily operations to ensure efficiency
  • Assist the Production Manager with coordinating and planning production according to customer demands, equipment availability and ingredient & material availability
  • Monitor & track production and assist management with determining required adjustments to improve yields and increase efficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team & Consultants to ensure operational procedures, forms, reporting and corrective actions are being handled efficiently as necessary
  • Assist with collecting and analyzing data to monitor costs of production, yields, waste and overtime
  • Monitor plant safety procedures and report any issues to management team as necessary
  • Track and monitor productivity
  • Monitor and stay up to date of safety rules, regulations, guidelines and keep informed of best practices for production and operations
  • Communication with customers and vendors
  • Provide support to the Production Manager with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational reports (inventory, issues, product launches, customer complaints, forecasts, sales, costing, etc.)
  • Collaboration with the Procurement & Replenishment Department to support need requirements based upon orders submitted
  • Troubleshoot production related issues
  • Additional related duties and responsibilities as required

 

 

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications of the Production Supervisor:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred however, a combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a similar role within the Food Processing industry is required
  • Must be HACPP Certified
  • Professional and effective communication skills; Interpersonal, verbal and written
  • Superior detail orientation, time management, project management, analytical, mathematical, investigative, problem solving, and organizational skills required
  • Advanced computer software skills in; MS Excel, Word, Outlook as well as CRM/ERP programs required
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Knowledge of business and supervisory principles such as budgeting, cost analysis, strategic planning, resource allocation and employee relations
  • Must be able to multi-task and possess a high level of accuracy within an extremely fast paced and deadline-oriented work environment with simultaneous projects
  • Strong Food Safety understanding preferably experienced in GFSI level certified facilities
  • Experienced in supervising production teams & supporting operations running multiple shifts
  • Experience with Liquid Nitrogen and Kettle Cooking
