Plant Director

TeamBuilders is hiring for an experienced Plant Director to join a rapidly growing Food Processing organization in the Reedley, CA area.


Company is an established and stable food production facility that has recently launched a new line of business which has created the opportunity to develop a new operations plant for the production of the new line of products. Within this fast-growing, innovative and pioneering food processing organization, the Plant Manager will be a key member of the leadership team of this new food production facility.


The Plant Director will oversee the daily operations of this multi-shift facility and interact with several other facilities within the company.  Due to this expansion and nature of the business, we are seeking candidates with a proven track record of success managing a high quality food processing facility.



The Plant Director position is being offered on a Direct Hire and Full-Time basis, Monday through Saturday with overtime requirements due to multiple shifts being run.  Company offers an outstanding benefits package and a competitive salary of up to $130K to start, DOE.



Essential Duties of the Plant Director to Include:


  • Assist ownership with organization, management and implementation of various expansion projects
  • Provide excellent leadership and management to plant employees
  • Coordinate & monitor facility and equipment modifications and improvements
  • Provide key support to the Sales and Finance Management team by collaborating with the Supply Chain Management Team with tracking, monitoring and coordinating all existing and new projects from start to finish
  • Planning, organizing, directing and running optimum daily operations to ensure efficiency
  • Coordinate and plan production according to customer demands, equipment availability and ingredient & material availability
  • Monitor & track production yields and assist management with determining required adjustments to improve yields and increase efficiencies
  • Monitor operations and work with Quality Control Manager to implement Corrective Actions where necessary
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor costs of production, yields, waste and overtime
  • Monitor plant safety procedures and implement changes as necessary
  • Develop & maintain systems and processes to track productivity
  • Work with Quality Control and Consultants for management and development of operational procedures and forms; integration of protocols currently in place with existing operations in addition to participating and providing support for all food safety audits
  • Monitor and stay up to date on safety rules, regulations, guidelines and keep informed of best practices for production management
  • Oversee and manage production staff and administration staff as required
  • Customer & vendor communications
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual operational reports (inventory, issues, product launches, customer complaints, forecasts, sales, costing, etc.)
  • Provide support to the Procurement & Replenishment Department with need requirements based upon orders submitted
  • Troubleshoot production related issues
  • Advanced research & analysis for equipment with detailed assessments and recommendations
  • Additional related duties and responsibilities as required


Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications of the Plant Director:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a similar role ideally in the Food Processing industry is required
  • Must be HACPP Certified
  • Professional and effective communication skills; Interpersonal, verbal and written
  • Superior detail orientation, time management, project management, analytical, mathematical, investigative, problem solving, and organizational skills required
  • Advanced computer software skills; MS Excel, Word, Outlook required
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Knowledge of business and management principles for application toward budgeting, cost analysis, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources
  • Must be able to multi-task and possess a high level of accuracy within an extremely fast paced and cross functional work environment
  • Strong Food Safety understanding and experienced in GFSI level certified facilities (experience with food safety audits)
  • Experienced in hiring and establishing production teams & organizing operations running multiple shifts
  • Mechanically inclined and experienced with larger equipment installations
  • New plant construction experience preferred
  • Skilled with Liquid Nitrogen and Kettle Cooking
